What Is It?ما هو؟
Myofunctional therapy is a structured programme of exercises for the tongue, lips and facial muscles, aimed at correcting dysfunctional patterns such as low tongue posture, mouth breathing and incorrect swallowing. These patterns can undermine orthodontic and airway treatment if left unaddressed, so therapy is often prescribed alongside expansion or appliance therapy for lasting results.العلاج الوظيفي العضلي هو برنامج منظم من التمارين للسان والشفتين وعضلات الوجه، يهدف إلى تصحيح الأنماط الوظيفية غير الصحيحة مثل وضعية اللسان المنخفضة والتنفس الفموي والبلع غير الصحيح. يمكن لهذه الأنماط أن تقوّض علاج التقويم والمجرى الهوائي إن لم تُعالَج، لذا يُوصى بالعلاج غالباً إلى جانب التوسيع أو علاج الأجهزة لنتائج دائمة.
